4500’ Yancey NC Information ⬇️


Current Condition: Cloudy


Thursday-Sunday

Thursday rain with temps in 40’s and 50’s for much of ETN/WNC/Upstate SC. 

Friday colder air crashes in in the morning where ETN to the NC border will transition to snow. Afternoon goes on much if WNC looks to see some snow showers even in the valleys. Wouldn’t be surprised that northern upstate like Oconee Pickens Greenville counties to see few wet snow flakes mixed in as temps will be chasing moisture. No accumulation there and that’s a low chance. 

Saturday and Sunday early am will be NW Flow Snow for the TN/NC Border. 


Accumulation will range dramatically especially with elevation. But ETN and WNC High Country chances for accumulation looks good. And some places above 4K in favorable NW Flow spots this could become a big event. We get to tomorrow and models still onto this like it has been confidence will grow even higher.

Rain came in this morning and gave us 0.35” in the rain bucket. That now puts us over a inch for the week. High temperature of 54F with now mostly cloudy skies. Low tonight will get us to around 40F.                                        Sunday  Mainly sunny day with clouds rolling in more in the afternoon. High temperatures around the mid 50’s.
