Along the border above 5000’ patchy color still in sheltered areas. Mostly bare above 5100’-5200’. 4500-4700’ still some color but not lasting long with wind and rain. 4700’- 5000’ still some color but depends on slope. 3000’- 4000’ has the best color right now.

Monday 10/17 cold air will moves on in. If your plants haven’t taken a hit by frost or sub freezing temps they will then. Frost can even be possible far south as upstate sc. As of now Lows beginning to mid week look to be in low 20’s to even teens for high country and highs in upper 30’s to low 40’s. And maybe for 4500’ Yancey we can see some more flurries. Which would be 3rd time this season.
