Start with what I noticed today checking out foliage in Madison and Yancey Counties today. 3000’-3200’ moderate color showing. 3200’-4700’ day or two it will be peak. 4700’ on up good many leafless trees but good color especially with oaks. Come Thursday rain expected so leaves will be impacted if rain comes heavy enough. Will watch for that but if you want to see leaves in high country you need to this week. These leaves not hanging around long. 4000’ on up I expect in most border areas to have no foliage or very little left.

Rain came in this morning and gave us 0.35” in the rain bucket. That now puts us over a inch for the week. High temperature of 54F with now mostly cloudy skies.
