After a cool mountain morning of 27F we quickly warmed up today with bright sunshine to a temperature of 46F. Temperatures really stayed steady over night. Still some snow pack with a solid 2-4” especially in the shaded north facing areas. Still need to watch out for black ice in areas that fall below freezing tonight on the back roads of the high country.

Week ahead will be mild during day and cool at night. Rain makes its way into the area Wednesday thru Saturday it looks. What I’ve heard from people is the hard freeze did some damage especially in SC to tomatoes and other varieties of vegetables. Also some plants and trees got nipped a bit thru the region. Good thing for areas that got snow is some of the plants got insulated by the snow which in other words helped protect them some. High country all brown and still dormant so no problems up high. Still can see affects from the cold temperatures appear days after the Sunday cold morning.  But hopefully most didn’t plant anything yet that was tender.

Appreciate everyone support! Hope everyone has a great rest of there Monday!
